Assumption

Paul S. Throneburg, 84, of Assumption, departed this life on Friday, April 25, 2008, at 7:45 a.m. in Shelbyville Manor.

Services were held Monday, April 28, in Mt. Pleasant Church of God, Assumption, with Pastor David Beerbower officiating. Burial was in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Assumption.

Memorials may be made to Mt. Pleasant Church of God or Gideons International.

Mr. Throneburg was born September 6, 1923, near Assumption, the son of Ray and Bertha (Griffith) Throneburg, He attended Westervelt High School. He served in the Air Force during WWII from March 1943 until February 1946.

He was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Church of God and Gideons International. He was parts manager for Sloan Implement, retiring in 1989, after 40 years of service.

He married Pauline Wemple, August 10, 1943, at Goldsboro, N.C. She survives.

Also surviving are children Ron Throneburg of Assumption, Dennis (Brenda) Throneburg of Wyanet, IL; Monte (Joyce) Throneburg, and Janis Weeks all of Assumption; six grandchildren: Troy (Becky) Throneburg, and Dave and Beth (Throneburg) White of Shelbyville, Joshua (Minhee) Throneburg of South Hamilton, MA, Mason Throneburg of Chicago, Erica Throneburg of Seattle, WA, and Marcus Throneburg of Sheffield, IL; six great-grandchildren: Matthew, Emma and Caroline White, Jacob, Sarah and Rachel Throneburg, all of Shelbyville.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Bertha; foster-sister Doris Marxman; daughter-in-law Carol Throneburg and son-in-law Roger Weeks.
