Richard Dale Carroll, 80, of Morristown, TN, formerly of Oswego and Findlay, IL, died Thursday, April 24, 2008.

Memorial graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 3, 2008 in Wright Cemetery, near Findlay with Rev. Dan Eloe officiating. Arrangements are by Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL.

Mr. Carroll was born on November 18, 1927 in Findlay, IL, the son of John Henry and Letha Walton Carroll. Richard was a U.S. Army veteran of WW II and a member of Morningside Baptist Church. He married Elsie McRoberts.

Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Elsie; sons, Richard (Betty) Carroll of Atlanta, GA and Randy (Joan) Carroll and Mark (Cindy) Carroll all of Oswego; daughter, Debra Carroll of Morristown, TN; brother, Billy Carroll of Findlay; sisters, Mary Dunaway, JoAnn Huber and Patsy Smart all of Shelbyville; seven grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Tom Carroll.
