Margie Maureen Christman Beery 86 of Findlay, Illinois, passed away at 3:40 PM Saturday May 3, 2008 in the Extended Care Unit of Shelby Memorial Hospital in Shelbyville.

Margie was born July 3, 1921 in Livingston, Montana to Aubrey (Bill) and Lela Dawdy Christman.

Margie graduated from Findlay High School in 1938. She married George Beery August 1, 1941 and he passed away May 30, 1997. She was secretary to G. Noel Bolinger, President of Sta-Rite Ginny Lou Corporation of Shelbyville during the forties and then a homemaker on their farm south of Findlay. After moving to Florida in 1968, Margie worked as a secretary for the East Naples Middle School in Naples, Florida. She enjoyed her home in Florida in the winter and spending time with her family and gardening during her summers in Illinois. She loved music and played both the piano and organ.

Margie leaves her son Lance and wife Elaine of Findlay, and four grandchildren: Lance Jr. and wife Andrea of Casey, Illinois, Lisa Beery and husband Kevin Rodgers of Orland Park, Illinois, Nick Beery of Findlay and Brett Beery and fiancé Chelsea Fisher of Seattle, Washington. She leaves a special nephew Lindsey Parrish and wife Linda and nieces Lori Niemi, Lani Block and Luralyn Rightnour. Margie leaves two great granddaughters, Sierra Beery and Judith Beery.

She was preceded in death by her husband George, parents, sisters Doris Bolin and Marian Parrish.

Following Margie’s wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

The family wishes to give a special acknowledgment of thanks to Susan Macklin and Priscilla Evans whose care enabled Margie to live at home as long as possible and maintain her quality of live which she greatly valued.

The family requests that memorials be given to Shelby Memorial Hospital’s Home Health and Skilled Care unit. These caring people provided loving support and professional care for Margie in her struggle with Parkinson’s Disease.

Arrangements and care are entrusted to Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Findlay.
