Thomas M. McBride, 79, passed away on Wednesday, May 7, 2008, at Kindred Hospital in Greenfield, WI.
He was born in Shelbyville, IL on July 6, 1928, the son of John P. and Edna (Perry) McBride.
He was a 1947 graduate of Shelbyville High School. He served in the United States Army from February 1951 to February 1953, as a Radio Operator. On July 10, 1954 he was united in marriage to Anne Frances Jarosik. They celebrated 50 years of marriage. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Tom retired from Twin Disc in 1985 after more than 30 years of service. He enjoyed golfing, dart ball and horseshoes and was an avid Green Bay Packer fan. He also enjoyed gardening, feeding birds, his dogs and going to St. Martin's Fair. Something he had done for many years with his wife Anne. He will be sadly missed by his family.
Surviving are his loving children; Kevin (Jeanine) McBride of Racine, Patrick McBride of Las Vegas, NV, Kelly (Marty) Rooney, Dannie (Nancy) McBride and Tommy McBride all of Racine; seven grandchildren, Bonnie, Patrick, Casey, Brooke, Niki, Jennie and Ryan; four great-grandchildren, Matthew, Mario, Aiden, and Annalisa, one brother, John (Jackie) McBride of Midland, TX; two sisters, Donna Robinson and Sharon (Rodney) Wade all of Shelbyville, IL; niece, Rannie Stulo of Racine, nephew, Dan (Jennifer) Jarosik of Madison, great nephews and their families, Stephan (Kim) Stulo, Scott (Miria) Stulo, Shawn (Myra) Stulo, Sam (Courtney) Stulo, Seth (Adrienne) Stulo; best man and friend since high School, Robert (Carol) Phegley of Racine; his golfing buddies, Kenny, Al and Joe. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Anne Frances on January 22, 2005, son, Shawn Michael McBride on May 25, 1974 and nephew, Thomas W. Stulo on April 20, 2006.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 2201 Northwestern Ave. on Tuesday, May 13, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Ronald Crewe officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. There will be a visitation at the Sturino Funeral Home on Monday evening from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. and at the church on Tuesday before services, from 9:30 a.m. until 10:15 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to Sacred Heart Parish or the family have been suggested.
