Clarence F. "Stoney" Stone, 94, of Shelbyville, died at 5:10 p.m. Saturday, October 24, 2009, in his residence.

Funeral services will be held at 12 noon Wednesday, October 28, in Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Shelbyville with Rev. E. Wade Helmkamp officiating. Visitation from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville and one hour before services in the church on Wednesday. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville. Memorials may be given to Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Shelbyville or the American Cancer Society.

Mr. Stone was born on September 20, 1915 near Findlay, Illinois, the son of Walter R. and Leota Cox Stone. Clarence worked for Sta-Rite Ginnie Lou, Inc. for 2 years, Oliver Corporation for 4 years, International Harvester Dealership for 42 years, Funk's for 8 years and the Fire Department for 12 years plus 28 years as a volunteer firefighter, all in Shelbyville. Clarence was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Shelbyville. He married Lucinda S. Stremming on September 21, 1941. Clarence was a lifetime husband, dad, grandpa and great grandpa.

Surviving are his wife, Lucinda; sons, Larry "Rocky" Stone and wife Mary of Montrose, IL, Jerry Stone and wife Bev of Pana, IL, Jacky Stone and wife Ginger of Washington, IL and Earl Stone and wife Amy of Lexington, KY; daughters, Delores "Dee" Kiefer and husband John of Effingham, IL, Fritzie Nichols and husband Larry of Shelbyville, IL and Lucinda "Cindy" Morgan and husband Bob of Shelbyville, IL; sister, Ruth of Toulon, IL; special sis, Sharon Zindell of Shelbyville; 16 grandchildren; and 29 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Ronald Stone; daughter, Leota Stone; and sisters, Hazel Zindell, Marge Hasselberg, Irene Pettus and Wilma Thomson.
