---- — William Winter, 54, of rural Tower Hill, IL, passed away Friday, Feb. 21, 2014, at his residence.

William was born Oct. 1, 1959, in Decatur, IL, the son of Curtis Albert and Jessie Shaw Winter.

He married Deborah Kruse on April 11, 1981, in Pana, IL. He spent his entire life in this area.

He operated his own macahine shop and had worked in maintenance at International Paper.

He was a member of Two Rivers Jeep Club and enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and Jeeping, as well as working in the machine shop.

Surviving are his wife, Deborah Winter of Pana, IL; sons, Jeremy Winter and girlfriend Stephanie Knezevich of Pana; Scott Winter of Pana; daughter, Jamie Winter of Pana; grandson, Zakk Winter of Pana; mother, Jessie Carroll of Moweaqua, IL.; and sisters, Cindy Hooper and husband Steve of Moweaqua and Rose Hooper-Paul and husband Gary of Decatur, IL.

He was preceded in death by his father and brother, Lee Winter.

Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 28, at McCracken-Dean Funeral Home, Pana, with Derrick Ritchey officiating. Time of sharing will be Friday from noon until time of service. Inurnment will be at IOOF Cemetery, Moweaqua, IL. Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice. McCracken-Dean Funeral Home is assisting the family.
