SHELBYVILLE, IL. — Buddy Dale Beck


Buddy Dale Beck, 77, of Shelbyville, IL, formerly of Pana, IL and Lawrenceville, GA, passed away at 6:08 PM Monday, May 26, 2014, in his home.

Buddy was born July 13, 1936, at Cowden, IL the son of Harvey and Lulu Sloat Beck.

He married Leah Landers on Dec. 11, 1954 in Herrick, IL

Buddy was a brick mason by profession. He owned and operated Beck Masonry in Lawrenceville, GA for over 25 years. He then retired and moved to Shelbyville in 2012.

He was a member of the First Christian Church, Masonic Lodge #990 of Herrick and Moose Lodge of Shelbyville.

Buddy loved traveling and gatherings with his family.

Surviving are his wife Leah; children: Joletta (Terry) Hill of Nokomis, IL, Kenton Dale (Kim) Beck of Lawrenceville, GA, Darla (Rodger) Moore of Oconee, IL Eric (Kristine) Beck of Shelbyville and Leon (Christy) Beck of Flowery Branch, GA; thirteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Buddy was preceded in death by his parents; sisters: Marie, Pansy and Myrtle; brothers: Leon, Ravis, Raleigh, Raymond, Dean, Robert and Marvin (Skip).

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday May 31, 2014 in Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Shelbyville. Pastor Jay Huddleston will officiate. Masonic rites will be performed by Herrick Masonic Lodge # 990 of Herrick. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until time of the service on Saturday in the funeral home. Memorials in Buddy’s memory may be made to the Lesch-Nyhan Foundation for his grandson Dylan or Herrick Masonic Lodge #990 designated for the student scholarship fund or Coins for Kids.
