Eva L. Brown, 95, of Decatur, formerly of Shelbyville, passed away Saturday, May 31, 2014, at Imboden Creek Living Center, Decatur, IL.
A graveside service honoring her life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 4, 2014, at Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville, IL. Pastor Dan Eloe will officiate. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be made in her honor to First Baptist Church of Shelbyville. Tanzyus-Logan Funeral Service & Care is in charge of arrangements.
Eva was born on December 6, 1918, the daughter of William and Mattie (Shull) Beasley, in Iolo, Illinois. She married Murvin H. Brown on March 8, 1937, and they were blessed to enjoy 65 years of marriage together. She worked as a telephone operator, and in her spare time, she enjoyed giving family dinners, gardening, selling Avon, and attending Flea Markets.
She is survived by her two sons: Garry (Nancy) Brown of Decatur, and Greg (Cindy) Brown of Shelbyville; 1 grandson: Michael (Jennifer) Brown of Forsyth; two great grandchildren, also of Forsyth; and several nieces & nephews.
Eva was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 3 sisters, and 1 brother.
She was a loving wife, and a wonderful mother, and she will be dearly missed.
