Louise (Lape) Archey
Louise (Lape) Archey, 99, of Clinton, died Tuesday, January 15, 2013, at Manor Court in Clinton.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday, January 18, at Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, with J. Kent Hickerson officiating. Visitation will be from 1-2:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Private graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 19, at Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville. Memorials may be made to Dr. John Warner Hospital Foundation.
Mrs. Archey was born September 2, 1913, in Shelbyville, daughter of John H. and Leota M. (Fisher) Lape. She married Gloyd E. Archey on April 1, 1938. He passed away January 16, 1968.
During her many years, she worked in the Maroa school cafeteria, Clinton High School office, Wallace Press, Fitzgerald Jewelry, Loves Clothing Store and “Dis n Dat”.
Louise loved being with family and values her many friends of all ages. Over the years she enjoyed collecting antiques.
She is survived by one son, Gary G. (Sandy) Archey of Clinton; two step-daughters: Helen Ann (Max) Williams and Doris (Dean) Rothrock, both of Shelbyville; five grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Jan Kay (Charles D.) Bell, two brothers and one grandson.
