Terry Gene Shafer

SHELBYVILLE, IL. — Terry Gene Shafer

Windsor

Terry Gene Shafer 63 of Windsor, IL passed away at 12:38 PM Thursday Jan. 17, 2013 in Decatur Memorial Hospital in Decatur, IL.  

Terry was born August 24, 1949 in Mattoon, IL the son Lawrence and Maxine Fisher Shafer.  

He married Marylou Rincker.  Later he married Kathie Stein.

Terry graduated from Windsor High School in the Class of 1967.  He was a lifelong grain and livestock farmer, and was employed in the maintenance department at Findlay High School for several years.

Terry served as the Beef Superintendent at the Shelby County 4-H  Fair; was a past 4-H leader; was a member of the Simmental Association; was a member of the Illinois and National Angus Associations; was a member of the Shelby County Farm Bureau and  had been the 5th and 6th grade basketball coach at  Findlay  Grade School.

Surviving are children: Tara (Karlo) Shafer of Decatur, IL and Jason Shafer of Findlay, IL; grandchildren: Karlee Tucker and Hope Tucker; brother Larry (Maria) Shafer of Windsor; niece Becky Shafer of Columbia, MO; nephew: Bobby  (Amy) Shafer of Windsor; special family friends Van and Debbie Cruit.

He was preceded in death by a son Robert Todd Shafer, his parents, brother Bobby Shafer and sister Rebecca Shafer.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday Jan. 22, 2013 in Lovins-Lockart Funeral Home in Windsor.  Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 PM Monday in the Funeral Home. The Family requests casual attire.  Burial will be in Ash Grove Cemetery near Windsor.  Memorials may be made to Shelby County 4-H.  On line condolences may directed to the Family at www.lockartgreenfuneralhome.com
