SHELBYVILLE, IL. — Donald Dean Fry
Donald Dean Fry, 87, of Cowden was called home to be with the Lord at 2:12 a.m. Monday (July 1, 2013) at St. John’s Hospital, Springfield.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the Lockart-Green Funeral Home, Cowden with Pastor Richard Corwin officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday. Burial will be in the Myers Cemetery, Herrick with military rites. Memorials may be made to the St. John’s Hospital Hospice or charity of your choice.
Don was born in Bethany the son of Rev. Russell K. and Neva (Gordon) Fry. He married Alta Rose Burrus on January 31, 1947 in Herrick and she preceded him in death February 16, 2006.
Don served in the US Army in WW II and was affiliated with Union Christian Church, Ramsey.
Survivors include 5 children, daughter, Connie Fisher and husband Paul of Macomb, son, Donald Fry, Jr. and wife Carmen of Vandalia, daughter, Melody Barnhart of Vandalia, son, Steve Fry and wife Virginia of Shelbyville and daughter, Kim Holm and husband Ronald of Elk Grove Village. Donald also has 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his mother, father, wife, sister, Barbara Fisher of Odin and brother, Kenny Fry of Elgin.
