Effingham

Juanita G. Brown, 79, of Effingham, passed away Saturday morning, January 11, 2014, at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana.

Funeral services for Juanita were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Hall Funeral Chapel in Effingham with Rev. Leon Goff officiating. Entombment was at the Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum in Effingham. Memorials may be made to the donor's choice. Condolences may be left on line at www.hallfunerchapel.com.

Juanita was born in Shelbyville on August 20, 1934, a daughter of Elbert and Ruby (Agney) Thomas. She married Gerald L. Brown, Jr. on September 29, 1967, at the Second Baptist Church in Vandalia. She was a seamstress for most of her life. Juanita was a member of the Lighthouse United Pentecostal Church in Tower Hill.

She is survived by hr husband, Gerald, sons Tony Milligan of Woolwich, ME, and Tom Milligan of Michigan; brother Charles J. Thomas of Maysville, OK; sister Shirley M. Lofland of Lovington; half brothers Dennis Kneller, David Kneller, Barry Kneller, Brad Agney, Elbert P. Thomas, Robert W. Thomas, and Jack L. Thomas; half sisters, Barbara Thomas and Carol Abbott; mother-in-law, Ida Brown; brother and sisters-in-law Kent and Rhonda Brown, Phillip and Phyllis Brown, Curtis Brown, Gerald and Glema Sours, and Cheryl Volken; numerous nieces and nephews.

Her parents, daughters Rose Miller, Margie Milligan, Barbara Milligan, Lori Milligan, and Rebecca Brown, and a sister, Dorothy Thomas, preceded her in death.
