Jeanne graduated from Shelbyville High School and earned her Registered Nurse degree from St. John’s School of Nursing. She enlisted in the United States Army and served as a nurse at Ft. Bliss, Texas, where she met her husband Joe. Following her discharge from the service and marriage to Joe, the couple eventually settled in Jacksonville where Jeanne worked for the Visiting Nurses and as a school nurse. She retired from nursing in 1972.

In spite of her career, Jeanne’s main focus in life was her family. She was the devoted wife of Joe and dedicated mother to five active daughters.
