SHELBYVILLE, IL. — David Eugene “Dutch” Eversole
David Eugene “Dutch” Eversole, 87, of Shelbyville, died at 8:50 a.m. Monday, June 24, 2013 in Shelbyville Manor.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 28, 2013 in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL with Rev. Dean Cripe officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville, IL. Memorials may be given to Westervelt Christian Church.
Mr. Eversole was born on December 21, 1925 in Ridge Township of Shelby County, Illinois, the son of Orville and Ruby Price Eversole. He was a graduate of Westervelt High School. He married Ermajean Hodges on October 17, 1946. Dutch was a lifelong farmer and an active seed dealer for many years. He was a member of the former Grace United Methodist Church in Westervelt before becoming a member of the Westervelt Christian Church. He was also a member of the Shelby County Farm Bureau. Dutch was an avid fan of Country Music.
He is survived by his wife, Ermajean; children, Janice Shonkwiler and husband Paul Dewayne of Decatur, IL, Orville Eugene “Buster” Eversole and wife Becky of Shelbyville, IL and Sandra Patterson and husband Gary of Shelbyville; sisters, Hazel Rueff of Shelbyville, IL, Suzanne Drake and husband Thelbert of Springfield, IL and Carolyn Aspling and husband LaVerne of Galesburg, IL; sister-in-law, Norma Eversole of Shelbyville, IL; seven grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, William Paul Eversole.
