SHELBYVILLE, IL. — William Carl Wheeler

Findlay

 

William Carl Wheeler, 85, of Findlay died on January 8, 2014.

He was born December 30, 1928 in Decatur. He lived most of his life in and near Findlay and in Mattoon. He worked many years at Blaw-Knox as a welder and maintenance worker.

He was preceded in death by his wife Eileen (Stevens) Wheeler, mother Loral (Hostetler) Wheeler, and his father Frank Wheeler. He was also preceded in death by his brother Bud Wheeler and sisters Leta (Wilson) Taylor, Doris (Wilson) Rotolo, Stella Bryson, Ina Gordon and Meg Brooks.

He is survived by his son Bill Wheeler (Mary), daughter Ellen Humphrey, sisters Betty Pritts and Imogene Watson. In addition he is survived by grandchildren Seth Humphrey, Brennen Humphrey and Flannery Wheeler. He was a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows and of the Findlay United Methodist Church. The family asks that, in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to the Findlay United Methodist Church.

Visitation will be at the Lockart-Green Funeral Home, Findlay Saturday January 11, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. followed immediately by services at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be at the Findlay Cemetery.
