SHELBYVILLE, IL. — Wilbur L. Miller, Jr.


Wilbur L. Miller Jr., 81, of Findlay passed away on Sunday, May 5, 2013 in his home with his family at his side.

Wilbur was born on April 2, 1932 in Decatur the son of Wilbur L. and Marjorie (Reed) Miller Sr. He was a sheet metal worker for sixty years and retired from King Lar Company. He was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Shelbyville, IL. He loved the outdoors, hunting, gardening, and taking care of his home. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Army. He married Nancy Kwasny on June 6, 1953 in Decatur.

Surviving are his wife Nancy; children, Jodi Doyle (Don) of Decatur; Brian Miller (June) of Decatur; brother, David Miller (Ellen) of Mt. Zion; grandchildren, Mike Doyle (Jen); Katie Miller; Libby Kirkland (Ryan); Will Miller (Lindsey) all of Decatur; Jeff Doyle (Colleen) of Bartlett, IL; 2 great-grandchildren; 1 step-grandson, and 2 expected. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Catherine Kwasny of Forsyth; sister-in-law, Sandra Shinn (David) and brother-in-law Ronald Kwasny (Jackie).

He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, grand-daughter, father-in-law, and a nephew.

He was a Loving and caring person and always there for others. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

Funeral service to celebrate Wilbur’s life will be 1:30 PM Wednesday, May 8, 2013 in St. John’s Lutheran Church in Decatur with Pastor E. Wade Helmkamp officiating. Visitation will be 12 -1:30 PM Wednesday in the church. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery and conclude with the “Flight Home” ceremony. There will be a Luncheon at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Shelbyville at 4 PM Wednesday. All are welcome to attend. Memorials are suggested to Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Shelbyville or Cancer Care Specialist of Central Illinois.
