SHELBYVILLE, IL. — Debra Kay Elam

Debra Kay Elam, 50, of Windsor passed away at 6:52. a.m. Saturday (February 23, 2013) at the Douglas Nursing Center in Mattoon.

Services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Winebrenner Memorial Church in Mattoon with Pastor Gary Stephen officiating. Visitation and refreshments will be from 5:00 p.m. until service time at the church. Arrangements are by Lockart-Green Funeral Home, Shelbyville.

She was born February 27, 1962 in Keokuk, IA the daughter of Daniel Merlin Alderton and Margaret Beal. She married David Ross Elam March 10, 1980 in Shelbyville.

She was formerly employed at RR Donnelley and Home Depot in Mattoon. Debra loved to cook, hunt mushrooms, the St Louis Cardinals and softball games as she met her husband at a game.

Surviving are her husband, David, father, and step-mother, Daniel Merlin and Anita Alderton of Mattoon; mother, Margaret Cooper of Leesville, LA; brother, Lloyd Alderton of Deridder, LA; brother, Michael Alderton of Mattoon; sister, Amanda Walker of Leesville, LA; step sister, Jaime Arthur of Mattoon; mother-in-law, Nancy Elam of Mattoon; several nieces and nephews.
