Charles M. Lamb, Jr., 88, of Shelbyville passed away at 12:31 p.m. Tuesday (December 10, 2013) at Heartland Christian Village, Neoga.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday in the Lockart-Green Funeral Home, Shelbyville. Visitation will be one hour before service time. Burial will be in Tower Hill Cemetery with military rites by the Shelby County Honor Guard.

He was born March 18, 1925 in Niantic the son of Charles and Leone (Scott) Lamb, Sr.

He enlisted in the US Air Force in 1943 serving 28 years retiring as a Lt. Colonel. He served in Japan during WW II. He graduated from Purdue with a degree in Aeronautical Engineering. He was a professor at Ohio State after his service in the military. He was an Eagle Scout and Scoutmaster and an avid hunter and fisherman.

Surviving are sons Charles R. Lamb (Patsy) of Shelbyville, William M. Lamb of Bakersfield, CA and David E. Lamb (Pamela) of Tustin, CA; daughter, Barbara D. Griffin of Santa Anna, CA; brothers, Bill Lamb of Shelbyville, Richard Lamb of Bloomington and Steve Lamb; sisters, Linda Mentz of Aurora, CO and Charlotte Richardson of Casa Grande, AZ; several grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Beverly and Jane.
