Findlay

Nita Blanche Wright, 93 years of age and a resident of Findlay, departed this life at 5:15 p.m. Thursday, July 11th, 2013. Her family was at her bedside at Shelby Memorial Hospital as she passed quietly.

She was born northwest of Findlay in rural Shelby County, Illinois on May 10th, 1920, the daughter of Edward Henry and Nannie A. (Pogue) Lumpp. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Lloyd Francis Wright, sons, R. Glen Wright of Findlay and Mary of Shorewood, Paul E. Wright and his special friend Linda Coffman of Findlay, and daughter, Karla L. Sharp and husband Joseph of Edinburg, Illinois. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Kristi Luttrell and husband David of Edinburg, Mark Robinson and wife Christine of Naperville, Justin Sharp and wife Erin of Springfield, Missouri, Jennifer Ashley and husband Jonathon of Bethany, John Wright of Chicago and William Wright of Findlay; special step-grandchildren Tiffany Hancock and husband Brock and Heather Ingram and special friend Mike; 8 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her brothers Eugene Lumpp and Harry Lumpp and wife Eileen, all of Shelbyville, nephews Brad Lumpp and Gary Lumpp both of Shelbyville, and nieces Becky Sue Eversole of Shelbyville, Julie McClain of Sullivan and Lisa McClarey of Savoy.

She lived her early life on a farm in Pickaway Township, Shelby County, Illinois, until her family moved to Okaw Township near the entrance to the Shelby Country Club. During World War II she worked in a factory in Indianapolis which made material for the U.S. Government. She was married to her husband Lloyd on June 6, 1946, after he returned from service in the U.S. Navy during the War. She resided in Findlay for the remainder of her life, working as a farm wife and a clerk in Johnston’s IGA Store. Her personal hobby was bowling and she bowled on many teams over the years in both Findlay and Shelbyville. She retired in 1985, but afterwards continued to be a homemaker and helped care for her son Glen’s children during many of his callups for military duty.

Visitation will be at Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Findlay, Illinois on Monday July 15, 2013 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., with the funeral to be held the next day, Tuesday July 16, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be in Wright Cemetery, northeast of Findlay.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Findlay Cemetery Association of Okaw and Todds Point Township.
