Lola Carol Duncan passed away on September 26, 2013, at the Fair Havens Christian Home in Decatur, Illinois. A private family service will be held at Seitz Funeral Home on Saturday, September 28, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. in Moweaqua, Illinois. Memorials can be made to Alzheimer’s Association and the Moweaqua United Methodist Church.

Carol was born on July 29, 1936 to Edward and Alice (Thomason) Sanner at the Moweaqua Hospital. She grew up on the family grain and livestock farm 6 miles east of town. Graduating from Moweaqua High School in 1954, Carol then attended the University of Illinois. She married Aubrey Duncan on December 10, 1955 in Moweaqua. They celebrated nearly 58 years together.

Carol managed the clothing store in Moweaqua, Lola’s Fashion Shop, for 10 years. She also helped on the farm, aiding the move from field to field, and delivering meals to the field during planting and harvest seasons. She enjoyed attending her grandchildrens’ sporting events, where she was known to let out an occasional “war whoop”. Carol also enjoyed gardening, feeding and watching birds in her backyard.

Surviving are her husband Aubrey of Moweaqua, daughter Cindy K. Minott of Moweaqua, son Troy and wife Teresa Duncan of Moweaqua, granddaughter Shea and husband Wes Temples of Bloomington, IL, grandson Ross and wife Kathy Minott of Naples, FL, granddaughter Audrey Minott of Decatur, IL, granddaughter Tessa Duncan of New York, NY, grandson Trent Duncan of Moweaqua, great grandchildren Taylor, Cooper, Jaiden and Ryan Temples of Bloomington, IL, sister MaryAnn Hedges of Moweaqua, sister-in-law Wilma Sanner of Decatur, IL, niece Lori Sanner of Decatur, IL, niece Carol Ann and husband Jody Long of Colierville, TN, nephew Jim Sanner of NC, nephew Randy and wife Margo Sanner of El Cajon, CA, nephew Jim and wife Loretta Hedges of Moweaqua.

Carol was preceded by her parents, brother Robert Sanner, brother-in-law Jim Hedges, son-in-law Jim Minott.
