SHELBYVILLE, IL. — Effie Mae Bond
Effie Mae Bond, 90, of Pana, died Saturday, September 14, 2013, in Pana Community Hospital.
She was born August 22, 1923, in Assumption, IL, the daughter of David & Birdie (Anderson) Harris. She was a graduate of Assumption Township High School and retired in 1988 as head cook at Lincoln School, Pana.
Effie Mae loved her family and enjoyed her children & grandchildren. She also took pleasure in journaling, playing the piano, word search books and cooking, especially for family gatherings. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Pana; Pana Area Senior Citizens; and was a piano player in Rose ‘n Buds Kitchen Band.
Effie Mae Harris and Raymond Bond were united in marriage on September 8, 1947, in El Paso, IL.
She is survived by her husband Raymond Bond, Pana, IL; children: David Bond & wife Aurora, Carbondale, IL; Linda Flowers & husband Curt, Monticello, IL; Danny Bond & wife Laura, Pana, IL; Don Bond & wife Patty, Pana, IL; Becky Billiter & husband Roy, Pana, IL; Rhonda Black & husband Randy, Herrick, IL; 14 grandchildren: Christopher Miller & wife Ali, Brooke DiBello & husband Lou, Victoria Bond, Michael Flowers, Sylvia King & husband Ben, Mandy England & husband Matt, Heather Dagen & husband Trevin, Erica Porter & husband Stephen, Jared Bond & wife Sarah, Joshua Barringer & wife Amy, Kenna Barringer, Holly Billiter, Matthew Black & wife Alyssa, Malaney Hall & husband Matt; and by 12 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers, 3 sisters, 1 granddaughter and 1 great granddaughter.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, September 17, 2013 in First Baptist Church of Pana at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Greg White officiating. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at the church.
