SHELBYVILLE, IL. — Nola Friese


Nola Friese, 72, of Effingham, IL, formerly of Stewardson, IL, passed away at 8:20 AM on Saturday May 18, 2013 in Lakeland Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Effingham. 

Nola was born June 5, 1940 in Midland MI the daughter of Edward and Dorothy Skym Riggie.

She married Dwight Friese on Sept. 5, 1963 in Midland, MI and Dwight passed away on Mar. 6, 2010.

Nola was a homemaker. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church of Shumway, IL where she was a member of the Ladies Aid. She loved to crochet.

Surviving are her children: Roger Friese and wife Lisa of Effingham and their children, Ashley and Mitchell; Todd Friese and wife Teri of Gainesville, MO and their son Bo; Allan “A.J.” Friese and wife Jady of Stewardson, IL and their children, Cody, Derk and Weston; sisters: Naomi Covel and husband Dave and Evelyn Philips both of Midland, MI;

She was preceded in death by her husband Dwight, parents and brothers: Donald Riggie, Vernon “Buzz” Riggie and Adrian Riggie.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday May 22. 2013 in Faith Lutheran Church of Shumway with Pastor Jason Rensner officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 PM Tuesday in the Church. Burial will be in Stewardson Cemetery. Memorials may be made in Nola`s memory to Faith Lutheran Church of Shumway.
