Windsor/Stew-Stras, fresh-off playing 3A and 4A team in the Crossroads tourney, took on 2A Teutopolis on Tuesday. The Hatchets had a let down, but still 2-set T'town, 25-19, 25-20. 

"We were a little flat tonight and just couldn't keep the consistency going," said WSS coach Ronda Schlechte. "They played well enough to win, but still have a lot to work out. T'Town came out to win and they put up a nice fight."

The match wasn't a showcase for the Hatchets even though they out-did Teutopolis, 50 to 39. They managed 25 kills from 24 assists, 92% from their offense. Six different hitters contributed for WSS. 

Megan Schlechte led the crew with 11 kills on 26 attacks with just 4 errors, followed by Calla Roney with 5 kills on 14 attacks with 3 errors. Tabbert chipped in 3 kills off 11 attacks  with 2 errors. Tabbert dished 18 assists and led the defense with 8 digs. Schlechte followed with 7 and libero Carson Cole had 6. 

Jessica Rauch led at the line, delivering the only 2 WSS aces from just 7 serves (28.7%). She also scooped 5 digs. 

What the Hatchets did well was block. The rose for 9 blocks. Mackinzee "Guns" Reynolds recorded 6 block assists. With her 3 kills,she had 6 attack points. Roney rose for 4 block assists to add to her 5 kills for 7 attack points. Claire Moomaw had 2 kills and 3 block assists. 

Schlechte had two block assists to total 12 attack points. Tabbert also had 2 block assists.

Tabbert served a team-high 11 balls with no errors. Anna Schlechte served 10 with one error. Megan Schlechte 9 balls with one error. Tabbert had 43 ball handling chances with just one error. Hannah Hayes had 12 ball handling chances.

Carson Cole took 14 serve receives with just 2 errors. Megan Schlechte had 7 with no errors and Anna Schlechte 5 with no errors.

WSS (7-3, 2-0 NTC) heads to St. Elmo to play on Thursday.
