Coleman to hit

Tanner Coleman ruled from the mound in game 1. He gave up 2 hits, while striking out 9 over 6 innings for the win. He was 1-for-4 with an RBI. In game 2, he was 1-for-2 with the only RBI.

Moultrie Douglas beat Decatur solidly on Sunday in the first game of a doubleheader, 6-1. But, Decatur came back in the 2nd set, winning solidly, 11-1, in the split personality event.

The two teams took turns going bi-polar, disappearing on offense and also blowing out their foe in the other game. Mo-Do jacked 13 hits in game 1 and just 3 in the game 2. Decaur managed 3 hits in game 1 and 9 in game 2.

Mo-Do was in the hands of pitcher Tanner Coleman, who held Decatur in game 1 to just 2 hits over 6 innings, while striking out 9. Coleman walked two in the 1st, but then struck out all three batters in the 2nd. He KO'd two in the 3rd and in the 4th.

Moultrie got on the board first in the 3rd. With one out, Spencer Johnson singled, Mike Miller was hit by a pitch. With two outs, Tanner Coleman singled the run in, 1-0.

Cale Sementi led off the Mo-Do 4th with a double. Jacob Craddock followed with a single and Tommy Schibur singled. Rogers hit into a fielder's choice and Johnson and Miller singled, 4-0.

Mo-Do came back in the 5th with 2 runs. Taylor Coleman singled, but was then doubled up. Craddock and Schibur each singled again. Rogers and Johnson also singled a run home, each, for a 6-0 lead.

Decatur got their one run on a gift. Coleman threw a walk, gave up a single, then a walk and a wild pitch, 6-1.

Eight Mo-=Do batters hit safely and 4 had multiple hits. Johnson was 3-for-3. Craddock was 2-for-3, and Taylor Coleman and Schibur were 2-for-4, each. Sementi (1-for-3) had the only double. Schibur scored twice and Miller (1-for-3) drove in 2.

Moultrie took an early lead, but it evaporated like the morning mist.

In the 1st, Miller led off the game with a single and stole 2nd. With one out, Tanner Coleman singled him across, 1-0. Sementi singled with two outs, but a K stopped the scoring.

Decatur tied it right back in the bottom of the 1st and stymied Moultrie the rest of the way.
