As the playoffs quickly approach, Moultrie-Douglas Sr. Legion tacked on a couple more wins, sweeping Charleston Red on Tuesday, 3-1, and, 5-3.

Both games were nip 'n tuck affairs. Charleston went up 1-0 in Game 1, then Moultrie answered with a 3-run rally to take the lead for good.

Charleston out-hit Moultrie 5 to 3, but had an error, while Mo-Do had none. Mo-Do pitchers walked no one, while Charleston gave up 2 walks. But Mo-Do did hit two batters.

In Game 2, Moultrie went up 3-1, then 5-1. Charleston chipped away, but never caught up. Again, Charleston out-hit Moultrie, 9 to 5, but still lost. Mo-Do gave up 2 walks and Charleston 4. 

In game 1, Mo-Do went in order in the 1st. Charleston got a lead-off double in the 1st and couldn't capitalize. Tommy Schibur reached in the 2nd for Mo-Do, but was left on and Charleston went in order.

Mo-Do went in order in the 3rd and Charleston scored. Moultrie starter, Schibur, hit the first batter. The runner made 2nd on a wild pitch. A fielder's choice led to the score, 1-0.

With two outs, Charleston almost scored again. They got a single, but Cale Sementi threw out a runner at home from center field, as Max Wyninger made the tag.

Charleston walked Mike Miller and Tanner Coleman in the 4th. Sementi singled to load the bases. Wyninger hit a sac fly and Miller tagged and score for the tie, 1-1. Schibur helped himself with a 2-run double, 3-1.

Charleston had a chance to come back in the 4th. Back-to-back singles couldn't get no satisfaction. The third batter hit to Miller at shortstop and he threw to Dalton Rogers at 2nd for one out. Rogers turned the DP throwing to Sementi at 1st.  Coleman then snagged a line drive at 3rd.

Miller singled in the 5th, but was stranded. In the Charleston 5th, A batter was hit with two outs, bringing the tying run to the plate. The batter singled to put two men on and the winning run at the plate. A ground out to Rogers, 2nd to 1st ended the game.

Miller, Sementi, and Schibur scattered the three Moultrie hits. Schibur's double was the difference in the game, scoring Coleman and Sementi.

Moultrie got the upper hand early in game 2. With one out, Coleman reached on an error. Sementi walked and Wyninger singled, jamming the bases. With two outs, Schibur was hit by a pitch to force in a run, 1-0. Sementi scored on an error by the pitcher and Wyninger stole home, 3-0. 

A pair of 1-out doubles got Charleston on the board in the 1st. Finley doubled, then Brady traded placers with his own double. Moultrie starter, Spencer Johnson rang up two straight batters to get out of the inning.

Rogers led off the 2nd with a walk and Ervin Kaufmann singled. With one out, Coleman doubled a run home, 4-1. Sementi walked to load the bases. Wyninger walked to force a run in, 5-1.

Charleston had a solo walk in the 2nd, but he was left on. Johnson led off with a single in the Moultrie 3rd, but was out stealing and Mo-Do went in order. Charleston got a lead-off single in the 3rd and he went to 2nd on an error. He tagged and went to 3rd on a fly out and scored on a ground out, 5-2.

Miller singled for Moultrie in the 4th, but was left on. Charleston came up empty again in the 4th. Reliever Tim Lawyer threw a K. Charleston had two singles, but Lawyer threw another K.

Lawyer hit a batter to load the bases. With the lead run at the plate, he got the big strikeout to end the threat. Moultrie went in order in the 5th. Charleston got one more chance in the 5th.

Two consecutive singles could have set the table. The first batter made 2nd on the throw, but was out at 3rd on an appeal. The next batter singled and the following batter reached on an error. Lawyer threw a strikeout and then gave up an RBI-single, 5-3. Schibur squeezed a fly out in center to end the game.

Once again, five Mo-Do batters split the hits. Coleman was 1-for-2 with a double, a run, and an RBI. Wyninger was 1-for-2 with a walk, a run, and an RBI. Johnson and Kaufmann were 1-for-2, Kaufmann with a score. Miller was 1-for-3.
