Central A&M softball’s bats were muted for the second game in a row, Thursday, managing to scatter just five hits in seven innings, as they dropped a home game to Pana, 2-1.

Michelle Day and Pana defense stumped A&M. Day kept the Raiders at bay with five strikeouts and the defense provided 16 put outs, while allowing just seven base runners.

Sami Snyder threw well again in her second straight loss. Snyder only allowed two runs on six hits over seven innings. She walked just three, but struck out eight.

Senior third baseman Rachel Hays and freshman traveling ball standout Torey Hoffman were both 1-for-3. Hoffman smacked a double and Hays drove in the only Raider run.

A&M (3-3) was still without their most dangerous player, Taylar Albertini, due to injury. They were to try to get back on a winning track against Ramsey on Friday, before playing today at Monticello, the first of five games in six days.

A&M plays at Monticello today, hosts Cerro Gordo on Tuesday, hosts Sullivan on Wednesday, is at Argenta on Friday then at Tri-Point on Saturday.
