SHELBYVILLE, IL. —
George Huntington went a perfect 6-0 and made it two wins in the last
three weeks at Shelbyville Horseshoe Club on Thursday night.
Huntington followed up his 6-0 win two weeks ago, by placing 2nd last week, then going a perfect 6-0 again to win again on Thursday.
Huntington, a World Tournament pitcher, who has boasted the best ringer percentage for years among the Shelbyville Horseshoe Club crew, ceded control of the weekly tournaments the last two years to Lloyd Ruff, who reigned supreme.

30-feet and getting on a roll. Huntington swept the night in Class A pitching, winning all six of his matches.
Ruff and Dale Westendorf duked it out for 2nd place. Both had 4-2
records, but Westendorf edged Ruff for runner-up status by 13 points in losses. Westendorf had 48 points in his two losses. Ruff had 35 points. Westendorf’s two losses were close ones. He lost by just six points each, losing both times by the score of 30-24. Ruff had a 30-19 loss and a 30-16 loss.
Huntington and Westendorf shared the lead through game 2, as both won their first two games and Ruff split his. Westendorf then lost game 3 just 30-24 and Huntington won his 3rd game giving him the lead. He won out and was unstoppable.
Lloyd Allen and Brandon Stephens also competed for 4th place. They both went 2-for-4, but Allen nipped Stephens by 20 points in losses.
In Class B, it was a 3-way battle for 1st place between SHC founding
member Pete Rankin, John Stevens, and Matt Pittman. They each had four wins and two losses and it all came down to points.
Pittman took the win, accumulating 48 points in his two losses. Pittmanlost 30-19 in game 1 and lost game 4 by the narrowest of margins, 30-29. He still prevailed despite the one close loss. By winning his final two games.
