Windsor Swept By St. Elmo

SHELBYVILLE, IL. —

Windsor 7th (14-4) took a tumble at St. Elmo on Thursday, 36-27, before the Windsor 8th (2-13) grade just missed a chance to get a win, losing, 29-25.
 
Windsor 7th started behind the curve on Thursday, trailing 8-4 after the 1st. They started to dig out of it in the 2nd with a 5-2 run and trailed at the break, just 10-9.
 
Out of ther locker room, the Trojans claimed the lead with a 12-9 run and was up by two, 21-19. However, in the fateful 4th, St. Elmo exploded with a 17-6 run and sped past Windsor for a 9-point win, 36-27.
 
Beau Bennett and Jackson Miller led the Trojan 7th with seven points each, while Logan Greuel and Ben Beck grabbed 10 and 8 boards, respectively.

Windsor 8th has struggled to get wins this season, but they had a shot on Thursday in a mild comeback.
 
St. Elmo had a 9-4 run in the 1st and stretched their lead to eight points at the break, 17-9. After the half, Windsor started chipping away.
 
An 8-5 Trojan run in the 3rd trimmed the St. E lead to five points and put Windsor in position to make a run. Windsor won the 4th, 8 to 7, but just by a point, and fell by four.
 
Gavin Bennett led the Trojans with 12 points, while Gage Sattler grabbed a team-high 11 rebounds.
