Trinity Takes 8th Grade Tourney

---- — Stewardson Trinity went to the St. Anthony 8th grade tourney and ran the table for the title.

Trinity won over Windsor (20-12,20-10), Newton St. Thomas (20-9,20-13), and North Clay (20-9, 20-10) to make it to the championship game where they met Decatur Our Lady of Lourdes.

Trinity took the first set, 20-8, but lost the 2nd set, 13-20. Serve receive errors hurt the Cardinals, but they came from behind 2-9 to win an exciting 3rd set, 15-13.

Martina Gratz (6th grader) served 6 consecutive serves to help rattle the opponents to gain the lead. It was a very intense game with tough competition that the Cardinals would like to play everyday. The Cardinals will attend the Effingham 7th Grade Tourney on Saturday, February 15. The 8th grade record is now 12-0.
