Pana Pummels North Mac

Pana girls basketball has had some tough goes this season, but they rolled Monday, blitzing Virden North Mac, 58-38.

Pana felt out their opponent in thre 1st and took a modest 11-8 lead. In the 2nd Pana pulled out the long knives and went on a 20-6 run for a 17-point half-time lead, 31-14.

After the break, Pana let Mac off the mat. North Mac almost matched Pana, but was down 19 heading into the 4th, 45-26. Down the stretch, Pana held serve and notched the win.

Lett led the way with 17 points, including a trey and 2-of-4 at the line. Vaughn also scored in double figures, scoring 10 with a trey and 5-of-6 at the line. Siegert followed with eight points and 12 boards for a near double-double.

Virden had one double-digit scorer, MaGuire with 12 points. Tomasko followed with nine.
