CHBC Bows In Regional

CHBC basketball finished last season as state runner-up. But with losses due to graduation, CHBC finished this season in the 1st round of the regional, losing to Nokomis, 65-13.

The Hornets were swatted out of the gate with a 25-0 Nokomis blitz. The 2nd period saw CHBC score just three points in the face of an 18-point Indian push. Nokomis was up by 40 points at the half, 43-3. Nokomis called off the dogs in the 2nd half. They still had an 11-0 run in the 3rd. In the 4th, CHBC finally got into double figures, almost matching Nokomis, 11-10.

Chandler Ward led CHBC with six points on a pair of treys, and three boards. Jensyn Morrison followed with five points and three boards. Caitlyn Sloan had the other two points on a solo bucket.

Jansyn Morrison finished as CHBC’s leading scorer with 183 points and 107 rebounds. Kirby Herrmann followed with 167 points and 102 boards. Chandler Ward led the team with 21 steals to go with 112 points and 108 boards. Morrison led the team with 43 assists.
