BC's Back-to-Back OTs

The Friday before Christmas break, Beecher City dropped an overtime game to St. Elmo/Brownstown, 52-46. The next night they were in OT again, but won that time, beating Okaw Valley, 58-52.

St. Elmo/Brownstown had a one trey advantage and a 5-point advantage from the line, accounting for their 6-point OT win.

Beecher City doubled-up St. E/B 8-4 in the low-level 1st period. St. E/B cut the lead to one at the half, 15-14. The Bombers took a 3-point lead heading into crunch time, 29-26. Beecher City dug deep and countered with their own 15-12 run towards the closing bell and forced overtime, 41-41.

However, St. Elmo/Brownstown countered in OT with an 11-5 run to escaped with the win. They had the game-high scorer in Maxey with 20 points, five bombs from downtown.

Beecher City matched Maxey with five treys from four players. Adam Doty had two, Jackson Bales one, Austin Rexroad one, and Jacob Kenter one. Doty led balanced scoring with 11 points. Andrew Lagerhausen followed with nine, Brandon Gardner with seven and Bales and Brady Barnes with five each.

Maxey’s running buddy Behrends scored 19 points with one trey and 8-of-11 foul shoooting. Feezel finished with six.

On Saturday, on again, off again Okaw Valley took on B.C. and it was the Eagles who got the run in OT for the win, to counter an Okaw Valley comeback, 58-52.
