Beecher City, fresh off their upset of Stew-Stras on Friday, knocked a chunk off of Christ Our Rock on 59-45.
The Eagles soared out of the gate with an impressive 19-6 run, followed by a 14-9 run for an 18-point lead at the break, 33-15. C.O.R. had a mini-revival in the locker room and came out with a 17-point 3rd, more than all their 1st half points.
C.O.R.’s 17-11 run trimmed the B.C. lead to 12 points heading down the stretch, 44-32. B.C. held serve, however, in the 4th and tallied the double-digit win with a 15-13 quarter.
Austin Rexroad, the Daily Union Athlete of the Week, who had a season-high 19 points on Friday, recorded a career-high 27 points in the B.C. win. Rexroad was the arc angel Austin, launching a sortie of five 3-point missiles, the majority of his nine field goals. He also went 4-of-6 at the line.
Two teammates were near double figures. Adam Doty and Jackson Bales had nine points, each. Bales had one trey. Brandon Gradner had seven points and the other B.C. trey.
Beecher City also bested C.O.R. at the line. They made 12-of-20, an 8-point edge at the stripe. That cushioned the margin of victory. C.O.R. had just one less field goal, although B.C. had four more triples for a 47-41 edge from the field.
