Good Time For Argenta

SHELBYVILLE, IL. — After a sub-par performance at the Shely/Pana Invite, then getting bulldogged by St. Teresa, it was a good time for Shelbyville to take a trip to Argenta.

The Lady Rams were able to work on some things and still win the 2-game set, 25-13, 25-23.

"We are working on some different options for our attack and I felt like we did a pretty good job for the first time working it," said Ram coach Lisa Peifer. "We played really well the first game and, like usual, let down the 2nd game. I was happy we held on for the win in the 2nd game. We have things to continue to work on for the postseason, but we"ll get it all together."

Shelbyville only had 13 kills, but had a block party. Ryann Ambrose was a wall, recording four blocks to go with three kills (7 net points). Haley Eisenbarth and Madison Boone had two blocks each.

Boone was back in the saddle, swinging for a team-high five kills and rising for two blocks (7 net points). She also led at the line with 13 points and two aces.

Claudia Watson raised her kill total, swingin for four kills to go with her two digs.

Rachel Fox and Lindsey Eigsti also had double-digit points. Fox had 10 points, two aces and Eigsti 10 points. Courtney Williams dished seven of the ten assists towards the 13 kills.

Brandy Smith led the balanced court defense with six of the 30 team digs.
