Hornets Sweep BC

SHELBYVILLE, IL. — The Cowden-Herrick Jr. High boys basketball program swept Beecher City on Monday. The Hornet 7th won, 33-12, and the 8th grade won, 43-10.

Cowden-Herrick 7th had eight different scorers, while BC had just four. Dylan Webster led all scorers with seven points.

Mason Stewart led BC with six points, but the Hornets had two more players with six points, each: Nick Miller and eddie Clearwater. That was enough points (19) to outscore all the BC scorers and to secure the win.

C-H dropped in 15 twos to BC's 4, while the free throws were near even.

In the primer-time affair, the Hornets repeated their prolific scoring over BC. C-H 8th also had eight scorers to BC's four.

Hunter Watson had a team-high 10 points, matching BC's total out-put by himself. Ryder Seely and Coltin Ruach followed with eight points, each. The top three C-H scorers out-scored BC whole team 26 to 10.

Kaleb Coty led BC with four points. C-H had three players that matched that. Marshall Nohren, Blake Barnes, and Kaleb Barfield had four points, each.
