Raiders Run Over Rams

SHELBYVILLE, IL. — Shelbyville has raised their level of scoring this year. They scored 50 points again on Thursday, but it paled in comparison to Central A&M's 91-point performance in the 91-50 blowout.

The Raiders burst out of the gate on a 35-6 run. A&M ran a lay-up drill during the 1st period, making 15 baskets, one every 30 seconds. Only two of their buckets were from the arc. They added three points from the line. They converted two 3-point plays at the line and split another pair of foul shots.

The complete dismantling included 10 points from Taylor Jordan, including a pair of treys., nine points from Kaley hennings, seven points from Mikah Maples and seven points from Ryan Dooley.

Each one of the Raider scorers out-scored the Rams, as a team, in the 1st. Shelby got just one bucket from Madison Boone and one from Grace Schuler. Olivia Williamson was 2-of-4 at the line.

The Raiders reloaded in-between the 1st and 2nd and came out to post another run and extended the lead to 45 points by the half, bordering on over-kill.

Jordan teed up another trey in the 2nd and a trio of twos for 19 points in the first half. Dooley scored, made two free throws, and scored again.

Five other Raiders had solo scores. Hennings added another two, Kayla Gibson a trey, Jorgi Sparrgrove a deuce, Morgan Damery a two, and Abigail Hilton a two. Maples split a pair at the line and Shelby Daily was 2-of-2 at the stripe.

Shelbyville got six players on the bgoard in the 2nd all with just solo scores. Schuler scored again, while Morgan Powers and Bri Ruff had solo twos. Lindsay Burton converted a 3-point play and Autumn Carson scored.

The blowout of the Rams overshadowed the Autumn Carson debut. The Stew-Stras native moved back from Florida this school year, but the IHSA in their unique wisdom declared she could not play until December 12.
