Miller High Jump 1st At Indoor

Former IESA State Champ in the high jump, Sydney Miller, opened the 2014 season winning the event at the Decatur Indoor Meet on Saturday. Miller, a freshman, and sophomore Morgan Powers, who was 3rd in the 800 run, led the Lady Rams.

Miller also had a 7th place finish in the 200 meter dash (30.90) and was on the 13th place 4x2 relay (2:06.08) in a 21-team event. Freshman Madi Ulrich claimed 5th place in the 55 m hurdles prelims (10.8) and finals (11.68). Ulrich was the anchor on the 4x2 relay.

Another 4x2 relay member, freshman Maddie Holland, was 7th in the 400 dash (1:08.96) as well as being on the 10th place 4x400 relay (4:49.48) with Ulrich, as the anchor again in a 17-team race. Sophomores Taylor and Morgan Powers were the other two members of the 4x400.

Taylor Powers had a Top 10 finish in the 400, finishing 9th (1:10.29), while Blair Johnston finished 8th in the 1600 run (6:14.22).

The Lady Rams coach by Jason Palmer will run next at the EIU Indoor Meet on March 15. The boys team will run this Saturday at the EIU Boys Indoor Meet.
