The Daily Union Female Winter Athlete of the Year led her team all season and took them to the State.
Ryan Dooley is a 5-6 sophomore starting guard for the Central A&M Lady Raider basketball team. Dooley led them to the IHSA Girls Basketball State Tournament and a 27-7 record.
She led them to the Macon County Tournament Championship and to runner-up in the Okaw Valley Conference Tournament. Central A&M won the Nokomis Regional Championship, the Toledo Sectional Championship, the Salem Super-Sectional Championship, and finished 4th at the state tournament.
Dooley was named to the IBCA All-State 2nd Team. She scored 529 points this season, as the Raiders leading scorer. She started all 34 games and averaged 15.6 points per game. Her high game was 31 points against Sullivan.
Dooley led the Raiders in scoring in 17 of their 34 games, including the State 3rd place game. Dooley led A&M in 7-of-8 straight games early in the season. She scored 18.4 points per game in those seven games, including her 31-point performance.
The Macon County Tourney and the OVC tourney were back-to-back. She led the team in 5 of the 11 games. She led them in five of six straight games, including the Macon County title game.
Dooley had 100 points in those games that she led the scoring and averaged 20 points in each of those games. Dooley led the Raiders in both of their Toledo Sectional games. She scored 38 points in those game, averaging 19 points per game.
Dooley made 36 of 125 three-point shots (26.5%). She shot 42% from the field (195-of-432) and 70% from the line 103-of-145. She grabbed 101 rebounds and dished a team-high 132 assists.
Runner-ups for Female Winter Athlete of the Year are Taylor Jordan and Lindsay Burton. Burton, a senior forward for the Shelbyville Lady Ram basketball team scored over 1000 points for her career and averaged a near double-double for the season. Jordan, a junior shooting guard, scored over 400 points this year, including 70 3-pointers. She set two 3-point records at the state tournament and tied a third.
