---- — The Daily Union Athletes of the Week had outstanding performances last week, three used their arms and one his legs.

Corey Kersey of Neoga used his legs to take two 1st places and one 3rd place at the Charleston Boys Class A Indoor Meet at EIU on Saturday. Kersey won the long jump with a jump of 20 feet, 9 inches. He also won the triple jump with a distance of 43 feet, 5 inches. Kersey also placed 3rd in the high jump, clearing 6 feet, 4 inches.

Amanda McClain of Okaw Valley used her arm to beat Central A&M in a softball game. The Timberwolves’ pitcher rang up 15 strikeouts and allowed just one walk in the 7-inning game. She gave up three runs on four hits and notched the win. She also hit 1-for-3 with a double and an RBI.

Two more Okaw Valley pitchers, Peyton Hagerman and Devon Still, used their arms to team up for two wins. Against A&M, Still threw 11 strikeouts in five innings with just one walk. Hagerman came on in relief and threw five Ks in two innings to notch the win. They combined for 16 Ks. Hagerman also hit 1-for-3 with two RBIs.

Against Windsor/Stew-Stras, Hagerman started the game and threw 13 Ks in five innings. Still came in threw seven more Ks in four innings to get the win. They combined for 17 Ks. Hagerman also hit 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI.
