Windsor, Stew-Stras Split

SHELBY COUNTY — Basketball rivals and baseball teammates, Windsor and Stew-Stras, split on Thursday. Windsor 7th won, 36-19, and Stew-Stras 8th won, 60-11.

Windsor 7th had a slim lead after the 1st and an even slimmer half-time lead, 13-12. But out of the locker room, Windsor came on like gangbusters, posting a 16-3 run. With that cushion, they cpasted during a 7-4 4th anf notched the 17-point win.

Ben Beck and Beau Bennett led the way with 11 and nine points, respectively. Bennett had one triple. Jackson Miller followed with six points.

Clay Tabbert and Adam Burton led Stew-Stras in defeate, with seven and six points, respectively.

Flip the coin in the nightcap, as Stew-Stras 8th ran Windsor 8th off the court.

They posted a 15-0 run, then a 16-2 run to lead by 29 points at the half, 31-2. A 17-3 run in the 3rd was like using the carcass for a football. Up by 43 points, 48-5, the Comets kept punishing Windsor with a final 12-6 run.

Chase Thies led Stew-Stras with 20 points and Brody Hansen had 11 with a trey hat trick. Christian Kessler followed with eight points.

Gavin Bennett led Windsor with five points, one trey.
