SS/W basketball splits again

---- — Stew-Stras/Windsor had their sixth split in a row to start the season on Thursday. The SS/W 7th won again, beating Dieterich, 41-9, while the SS/W 8th lost again, 27-13.

One, almost three, Stew-Stras/Windsor players were in double figures. Katrina Davis scored a season-high 18 points, all from the field. Megan Schlechte had nine points and Schultz had eight points.

The win was the biggest margin of the season, 32 points. SS/W had 16 more field goals than Dieterich. A 14-0 run in the 1st period and an 18-0 run in the 3rd set the tone.

Davis was held to four points in the 8th grade game and so was 8th grade leader Madison Everett, as Dieterich built a double-digit lead and doubled up SS/W.

Stew-Stras/Windsor 7th (6-0) was to host a 7th grade tourney on Saturday.

Stew-Stras/Windsor recorded two more splits early this week, with the SS/W 7th beating Sigel, 26-23, and Neoga, 34-6, while the SS/W 8th grade lost to Sigel, 44-17, and to Neoga, 18-15.

Stew-Stras/Windsor 7th is undefeated in five games, while Stew-Stras/Windsor 8th grade, with Madison Everett relying on 7th graders stepping up to play with her, have lost all five of their games, although they came close to getting in the win column against Neoga.
