---- — Shelbyville baseball lost a 1-run ball game on Tuesday at Monticello, 2-1, then got blown out at home by Mt. Zion on Wednesday, 11-0.
The problem on Tuesday was the Monticello pitcher, Crook. Crook mowed down 15 Rams with strikeouts. That only left six outs for the Monty defense to get. Crook did give out six free passes, but despite nine base runners, the Rams could only get one run across.
Lucas Duckett, the Ram pitcher, also pitched well. He gave up just two runs on six hits and two walks. He threw seven Ks in six innings.

On Wednesday, it was no contest. Mt. Zion got to Shelby starter Brett Peifer for five runs in the 1st and the Ram offense couldn't get any traction for the second game in two days. The opposing pitcher battered the Rams at the plate by pounding out two grand slams, one in the 1st and one in the 6th to spell an early dismissal.
Shelbyville's highlight was Spencer Shadwell and Tyler Hendryx both hit safely for the second game in a row.
