Ram 11U Splits With Neoga

The Shelbyville 11U travel baseball team squeezed out a win against Neoga in the first game of a doubleheader on Saturday, 10-8, but then was 10-runned in the nightcap, 18-8.

Shelby pounded out 14 hits in the 2-run game. Shelby was led at the plate by Rece Pullen and Will Leach, both hitting 3-for-3. Pullen jacked a triple, scored twice and drove in a run.

Brayden Vice and Kentrell Beck were both 2-for-3. Both doubled, Vice stole three bases and scored three times and Beck scored twice. They each drove in a run. Peyton Bryant also went 2-for-3. Beck also figured in the win Shelbyville. Beck went two innings and was credited with the win. He allowed no runs, no hits, one walk and KO’d two.

Game 2 was a blowout as the Rams failed to put up much offense or control the game from the mound.

Neoga rock n’ rolled with eight hits and 18 runs, while the Rams only managed three hits and drew nine walks. However, five Rams pitched and gave out 13 free passes, besides giving up eight hits. Of the five pitchers, Jake Goralski got the loss, giving up one hit and four walks and three runs. Other pitchers gave up five and as many as eight runs in just 2/3s of an inning.

AJ Stokes, Trey Ruot, and Tate Martz had the only hits. The Rams got most of their scoring from 12 walks.
