3 More Ram Home Runs

SHELBYVILLE, IL. — No runs, no hits, no errors, no walks...a perfect performance. Shelbyville's "Amazing" Grace Moll struck out 14 of the 15 batters she faced and the Ram hit squad clobbered Clinton into Shelby

shell-shock, Wednesday, 14-0.

Shelbyville and Clinton were both undefeated in the conference at the start of the day. Now, Shelbyville is alone at the top.

Coach Josh Maxwell declared it was the Rams' best game of the season and sees his team peaking. Not only was Moll perfect, the Shelby hitters' approach at the plate was also near perfect. After a scoreless 1st, the Rams put up alternating three and four run rallies over the next

four innings.

Shelby pounded out 14 hits, including three more home runs. They got three home runs from three different players against Monticello in their last game, Friday. They repeated that feat on Wednesday. Last Friday Moll, Madison Boone and Brandy Smith had home runs. On Wednesday,

Boone, Smith and Abbie Watton went deep.

Four Rams had multiple hits, four Rams scored 3 runs, each. Two Rams had multiple RBIs and seven Rams hit safely. Boone was 3-for-4 scoring three runs and an RBI. Rachel Fox went 3-for-4 with a run and three RBIs. Kayla Brachbill was 2-for-3 with three runs. Moll was 2-for-4

with three runs. Smith was 1-for-3 and scored three runs. Courtney Williams was 1-for-3 with two RBIs.

Moll KO'd the first Clinton batter in the 1st. The second batter hit the ball to Rachel Fox at 3rd and Fox gunned her down at 1st. The next 13 consecutive batters would be struck out by Moll. Only two of those batters had a 3-2 count and even came close to walking. Moll was in command.

Shelby got on the board in the 2nd and every inning thereafter. Boone led off the 2nd with a single, Smith walked and, with one out, Fox doubled . With two outs, Williams doubled, 3-0 Rams.

In the 3rd, Brachbill singled and Moll sacrificed and reached on the error. Boone singled, then Watton launched a 3-run homer, 7-0 Rams. In the 4th, Jensen Cloe singled, Brachbill singled and Moll reached on a fielder's choice. Smith reached on an error, Watton was hit and Fox singled, 10-0 Rams.

In the 5th, with two outs, Brachbill walked, Moll singled and Boone hit a home run. Smith made it back-to-back homers, 14-0.
