Okaw Blasted Twice

SHELBYVILLE, IL. — Okaw Valley played two non-conference games on Friday and Satrurday and were blasted in both of them. They lost to Paris on Friday, 17-2, and to Warrensburg on Saturday, 14-2.

Okaw didn't throw their aces either day and their opponents took advantage. By contrast, Okaw's scoring was limited by the opposing pitchers and defense.

Okaw Valley's defense, on the other hand, was suspect. They booted the ball 14 times in the two games.

Peyton Hagerman went 3-for-3 with a double against Paris, while four other Timberwolves scattered their solo hits.

Colton Sroka led off reaching on an error in the 1st, but was doubled up. Hagerman singled, but was stranded.

Paris came to the plate and took advantage of a walk and consecutive errors. With two outs, Paris hit four singles and back-to-back triples. They led 9-0 after one.

Joe Jeffers singled to lead off the 2nd, but was forced out in a 1, 2, 3, 4 inning. Paris came back for more.

Paris led off with a double, folloowed by two walks, and a grand slam by Mason. With one out, a single and a double got Paris going again. An error made it 15-0.

In the 3rd, after two outs, Ian Tiarks singled and Hagerman singled, but they were left on.

Paris started their 3rd with a walk and a double. With one out, a singled in two, 17-0. Okaw Valley hit the ball, but went down in order in the 4th.

Paris started the bottom of the 4th with a single, but Hagerman and Devon Still turned a double play. A walk and a single put two more on, but Jeffers, who came on in relief, KO'd the next man.

In the Okaw 5th down 17-0, Justin Johnson singled with one out. Sroka smacked a double. hagerman doubled and sent both runners home for the final score, 17-2.
