W/SS Goes 2-for-3

SHELBYVILLE, IL. — Windsor/Stew-Stras Devil baseball was busy this weekend, playing three games in two days. W/SS beat Casey on Friday at Windsor, 14-7. They beat St. Teresa on Saturday at the Charlie Due Wooden Bat Tourney in Champaign, 4-1, but then lost to Champaign Central, 7-4.

Casey handed out 12 walks  and the Devils pounded out 11 hits, making it easy to double-up the Casey offensive output.

W/SS had two doubles from Nic Hutchinson and Jacob Kramer, but it was the W/SS home runs from the 8th and 9th hitters that made Casey pay.

Dylan Ohnesorge and Devon Deremiah were both 2-for-3 and jacked home runs. Deremiah scored three times and drove in three.

Ohnesorge was also the winning pitcher, despite giving up seven runs on six hits and four walks in four innings, with four strikeouts.

The game was tied 6-6 after two innings with both teams posting 4-run innings. casey started to cool and W/SS kept touching home.

W/SS was up 8-7 in the bottom of the 5th, then had another 4-run rally. They added two for good measure in the 6th to win by seven.

Reliever's Bryse Bugger and Mark Jones threw an dinning for W/SS after Ohnseorge sat. Christian Vonderheide came in to close in the top of the 7th, striking out three batters.

W/SS was without Alex Allen and hayden Cole two colleg signed players, but the other players stepped up.
