Three ladies, two sisters are the Daily Union Athletes of the Week.
Alexis Halbrook of Shelbyville tennis is part of the Lady Ram recent turnaround. Halbrook, playing #3 singles and #1 doubles, has been winning consistently over the last week. She won her singles and doubles match (with Mykennah Allen) against both Decatur MacArthur and Springfield Lanphier.
On Thursday, she won again, beating Eisenhower in singles, 6-1, 6-0, and in doubles 6-0, 6-1.
Shelby Dash is a senior leader for Okaw Valley volleyball from the libero position. Dash boasted an area season-high 38 dig performance in a loss to Heritage, then had 10 digs in a 2-game upset of Arcola.
Sophomore Megan Dash is the middle hitter for Okaw Valley. She had 3 kills and an area season-high 9 blocks v. Heritage (12 net points) on Tuesday. She had 9 kills, 5 blocks v. Arcola (14 net points) in the LOVC upset on Thursday. She was all-tourney at the Windsor Invite.
