SHELBYVILLE, IL. —
Shelbyville Moulton basketball wrapped their regular season on Thursday with a sweep of LSA. Shelby 7th won, 46-30, and Shelby 8th won, 23-19.
Tylr Gottfriedt went off on LSA and almost out-scored them by himself. The Ram forward scored a game-high 22 points and didn’t get started until the 2nd period.
Shelby led 7-5 after the 1st, getting a trey from Payton Howell and solo buckets from Brett Spears and Quinn Martz. Then in up tempo the 2nd Gottfriedt led the way for Shelby.
Howell nailed another triple, but Gottfriedt split a pair at the line, then scored four times from the floor for 9 of his 22. Shelby still led by just four points heading into the locker room, 19-15.
Shelby extended their lead to seven points in the 3rd. Gottfriedt scored twice, Turner Pullen went 2-of-4 at the line and had a basket. Cade Watson, Mason Cameron, and Martz added solo twos in the 14-11 Ram run.
Shelbyville was up, 33-27, to start the 4th. They finished with a furious 12-4 run.
Gottfriedt scored from the floor, then sank two free throws. He scored again, then dialed in from long distance for nine of the 12 Ram points late. Spears struck from the arc and Cameron went 1-of-2 at the line to cap the 16-point margin of victory.

Shelby 8th was in a dogfight in the 1st half of their game and was licking their wounds at half-time, trailing 11-9. However, they charged out of the locker room for the 3rd and went on an 8-0 run to turn the tide.
Hunter Plummer had a deuce and a trey and Dillon Birch had a two and 1-of-2at the line, while the defense shut out LSA.
Shelby started the 4th up by six, 17-11. LSA cut into the Ram lead down the stretch, but not enough to get the comeback.
Keaton Plummer paced the rams in the 1st with all four of their points. Keaton had a deuce in the 2nd and Hunter Plummer, Keaton, and Dillon Birch all made 1-of-2 at the line to stay in the game.
Free throws tipped the scales for the Rams. Shelby shot 17 free throws to LSA’a two. Shelby made 6-of-17 (35%) but they still had a 5-point advantage in a 4-point win.
