B&R doubles up BAMF

B&R Marine is still rolling in the Shelbyville Mens Softball League. They took two from BAMF on Tuesday, 17-8 and 18-17.

B&R Marine was all that early in game 1. They scored 10 runs in two innings and led 10-3. That gave them a cushion and they came back pushin’ late. BAMF cut the margin to 11-6 after a 3-run 3rd. However, B&R answered with two runs and got the 7-run margin back in the top of the 4th, 13-6. BAMF got those two runs back in the 6th, only to have B&R respond with a 4-run 7th. Down 17-8, BAMF folded.

In game 2, BAMF had four multiple-run innings. They had a 4-run, two 3-run, and a 6-run rally. They doubled their production from game 1. However, B&R did them one better. B&R also had a 4-run rally, a 3-run rally and a 7-run rally. Tied at 17-17 in the bottom of the 7th, B&R got the other run they needed.

BAMF and B&R were tied at 1-1 after one. BAMF they vaulted to a 5-1 lead with a 4-run 2nd. B&R didn’t respond in the bottom of the inning. BAMF left the door open in the 3rd, not scoring. B&R then got their matching 4-run rally to knot the score at 5-5.

BAMF came back with a 3-run 4th. B&R only got two runs in reply and fell back, 8-7. After a scoreless 5th, BAMF upped their lead to 11-7 with a 3-run rally in the 6th. B&R then exploded for a 7-run rally in the bottom of the inning, pushing past BAMF to claim a 3-run lead, 14-11.

BAMF invoked the stand your ground law and came right back with a 6-run 7th to reclaim the lead, 17-14. B&R pulled back even in the bottom of the inning with a 3-run rally, 17-17. They came went into extra-innings. In the 8th, BAMF couldn’t score, but B&R had a walk-off run in the bottom of the 8th for the 18-17 win and the sweep.
