Windsor 7th Regional Champs

SHELBYVILLE, IL. —

Windsor 7th (17-5) faced a challenge from Cowden-Herrick in the Windsor 7A Regional championship game on Thursday. It was a tight game throughout, but a modest half-time lead held up and Windsor claimed the title, 25-19.

Logan Greuel was huge in this game as he recorded a double-double with 10 points and 19 (count 'em), 19 rebounds. Beau Bennett followed with seven points, seven boards, while Ben Beck had seven boards with three points.

The 1st period was a lock down period with just five points scored total in 6:00. Windsor held a slim 3-2 lead.

The Trojans started to get more separation in the 2nd with an 8-4 run. The 5-point Windsor lead at the break turned out to be huge, 11-6.

The 2nd half was a match-race that Windsor won, only because of the 1st half cushion.

Windsor upped their lead to six points after three periods, 19-13. In crunch time, Windsor and Cowden-Herrick played even, which sent the Hornets home for the season and the Trojans on to the Palestine Sectional on Wednesday.
